Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Ethobyte governing your use of RuneSpec and all related websites, dashboards, APIs, and services (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms.
  1. Eligibility & Accounts
    2. The Services are intended for users who meet the age requirements of applicable law. You must use a valid Discord account to authenticate. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Discord credentials and any actions taken using your account. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or service abuse.
  2. Privacy
    3. Our processing of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Services, you acknowledge that we will process your data in accordance with that policy.
  3. Subscriptions & Billing
    4. We offer premium features via subscriptions managed through PayPal. When you subscribe, you authorize PayPal to bill you according to the plan you select. Subscription status and events may be reflected in your premium server settings.
    • Renewal & Cancellation: Subscriptions renew per the plan terms until cancelled. You may cancel via PayPal; cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period unless otherwise stated.
    • Refunds: Unless required by law, fees are non-refundable once a billing period has started. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact accounts@runespec.com.
    • Chargebacks & Fraud: We may suspend premium features for suspected fraud or chargebacks, and cooperate with payment processors to resolve disputes.
  4. Content & Intellectual Property
    5. Except for material you submit and third‑party assets described below, all content on the Services (code, text, graphics, UI, etc.) is owned by Ethobyte or its licensors and protected by law. We grant you a limited, revocable license to access and use the Services for their intended purpose.
    • Third‑Party Content (Jagex): RuneSpec is a community tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Jagex Ltd. RuneScape content, trademarks, and imagery are the property of Jagex Ltd. We do not claim any rights over Jagex assets and reference public information solely to provide user features.
    • Your Content: You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant us a non‑exclusive, worldwide, royalty‑free, revocable license to host, display, and use your content solely to operate and improve the Services. You represent you have all rights necessary to grant this license and that your content does not infringe third‑party rights.
    • Trademarks: Ethobyte and RuneSpec names and logos are trademarks or trade names of Ethobyte. You may not use them without prior written permission.
  5. Acceptable Use
    6. You agree not to: (a) misuse the Services, disrupt operations, or circumvent security; (b) scrape or mine data except as permitted by written API terms; (c) post unlawful, infringing, or harmful content; (d) impersonate others; (e) violate applicable laws, Discord policies, or PayPal terms.
  6. Third‑Party Services
    7. The Services integrate with third parties (e.g., Discord for authentication, PayPal for billing). Your use of those services is subject to their terms. We are not responsible for third‑party services or content.
  7. Notice & Takedown
    8. If you believe material on the Services infringes your rights, contact legal@runespec.com with details sufficient for us to identify the content and your rights. We may remove or disable access to allegedly infringing material and, when appropriate, notify the user.
  8. Warranties & Disclaimers
    9. THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON‑INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error‑free operation or that defects will be corrected.
  9. Limitation of Liability
    10. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ETHOBYTE AND ITS AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. IN ALL CASES, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID (IF ANY) FOR THE SERVICES IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
  10. Indemnification
    11. You agree to indemnify and hold Ethobyte harmless from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your use of the Services, your content, or violations of these Terms or applicable law.
  11. Changes to the Terms
    12. We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Services or law. We will post updates at this page and revise the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Services after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
  12. Governing Law & Venue
    13. These Terms are governed by Dutch law, without regard to conflict‑of‑law rules. Exclusive jurisdiction and venue lie in the courts of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, except where mandatory law provides otherwise.
